William McKnight, President

MCG is led by William McKnight. William functions as Strategist, Lead Enterprise Information Architect, and Program Manager for sites worldwide utilizing the disciplines of data warehousing, master data management, business intelligence and big data. Many of his clients have gone public with their success stories.

William is an Ernst&Young Southwest Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist, a frequent best practices judge, has published hundreds of articles and white papers and given hundreds of international keynotes and public seminars, including TEDx. His teams’ implementations from both IT and consultant positions have won Best Practices awards. William is a former award-winning IT VP of a Fortune 50 company, a former engineer of DB2 at IBM and holds an MBA.

He is author of the books “Integrating Hadoop” and “Information Management: Strategies for Gaining a Competitive Advantage with Data.

His breadth of experience with information management includes internal product development (source code), IT development, management, analyst and consulting roles. He has produced dozens of analytic models in production worldwide.

William has been involved in information management his entire career. He knows what good work is, having built numerous end client successes, including many for companies in the Global 2000. His unparalleled exposure to the market infuses ideas into client programs.

William founded and grew McKnight Associates, Inc. during 1998-2005 to placement in the Inc. 500, the Dallas 100 (twice) and the Collin (county) 60. He sold the company to a public firm in 2005. He is author of the book “90 Days to Success in Consulting.”

William was a 10-year columnist at Information Management Magazine, is a 90+ time speaker and multiple keynote speaker at the Data Warehousing Institute where he teaches Data Maturity, NoSQL, Graph Databases, Business Intelligence Principles, Data Quality, Program Management, Data Governance, Data Architecture, Data Integration, Data Return on Investment, Agile Methodology, Organizational Change Management, Master Data Management and other courses.  He is former president of the Data Warehousing Institute Dallas chapter, is an expert blogger for Erwin Data Modeling Expert Blogs, The B-Eye Network, Jaspersoft Technology Blogs, IBM Midsize Group and Upside. He is the author of the Agile, Big Data and In-Memory Solution Offerings at MIKE 2.0 – the Method for an Integrated Knowledge Environment, author of many courses at ELearningCurve, author of the Data Warehouse and Big Data Certification Exams at ReviewNet, a member of the Boulder BI Brain Trust, a member of the MDM Think Tank, on the Program Advisory Committee for NoSQL Now! and a 10-time expert at the Pacific Northwest BI Summit. William has taught at Santa Clara University, UC-Berkelely and UC-Santa Cruz.  William is a member of the TechTarget Speakers Bureau and has consulted in 14 countries.

Jake Dolezal has over 16 years experience in the Information Management field with expertise in business intelligence, analytics, data warehousing, statistics, data modeling and integration, data visualization, master data management, and data quality. Jake has experience across a broad array of industries, including: healthcare, education, government, manufacturing, engineering, hospitality and gaming.

Prior to joining MCG, Dr. Dolezal was the Senior Director of Information Management at the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma—the third largest Native American tribe in the United States with over 200,000 members worldwide. He championed and developed an enterprise-wide information management initiative from the ground up across the organization’s commercial, government, healthcare, social service and education divisions. He was also involved with the organization’s core CRM and ERP systems.

Jake earned his Doctorate in Information Management from Syracuse University—consistently the #1 ranked graduate school for information systems by U.S. News and World Report. He is also a Certified Business Intelligence Professional through TDWI with an emphasis in Data Analysis. In addition, he is a certified leadership coach and has helped clients accelerate their careers and earn several executive promotions.

Dr. Dolezal has a passion for teaching and learning as well.  He taught as a university lecturer in physics and computer information systems for over a decade and published several articles in publications like Information Management. He is also the author of the book “Integrating Hadoop“and I Survived Stats: A Less Frustrating Approach To Help Students Survive and Pass a Statistics Course (forthcoming).

Wes Flores, Practice Leader, Data Management

Wes is a Senior Data Management & Analytics Executive with 20 years of experience in MDM, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Analytics, CRM, Data Integration, Data Quality, Quoting & Ordering platforms, User Experience Practices & Mobile Applications. He has a proven track record and a passion in setting up high-performance teams and implementing world-class information management platforms with the ability to effectively communicate key strategies, gain stakeholder alignment, and drive user adoption in support of key technology and organizational goals. Wes has extensive experience leveraging relationships to drive favorable negotiations both internally and externally and is a recognized industry international speaker.

He has directed IT organizations of 200+ resources & budgets greater than 20M per year, directed multiple large scale & multiyear programs of 20M+, managed global organizations (US, Germany, India, Argentina, France, Hong Kong, England) and implemented large scale systems & tools from hundreds to 10K+ users.

He received the Performance Excellence Award from the Verizon VRD Program in 2015 for innovation and leadership in support of sales solutions including budgetary quoting, preconfigured packages, and advanced address management.
