Predixion Software Release 3.0 adds Machine Learning Semantic Model
One of our companies to watch is Predixion Software, makers of Predixon Insight. Predixion Insight is designed for users ranging from business analysts to experienced modelers with consumption of the predictive results by everyone across an organization that needs the data for informed decision making.
Version 1.0 came out in 2010. It was a cloud architecture for predictive analytics in the self-service model, inside of Excel. They also had a Predixion cloud service for public cloud. Predixion uses a wizard-based metaphor and has extensive Powerpivot integration.
With Version 2.0 came more collaboration and visualization. It enabled sharing and working in groups with the insights. Predixion now had a suite of visualizations for understanding predictive analytics and the patterns found. They also created a thin client framework where you could create snapshots and email colleagues.
3.0 is an imminent release and represents a watershed change for Predixion. They are introducing the machine learning semantic model (MLSM). Predictive analytics is generally a large problem. Solving predictive analytics problems has usually been a one-shot deal. MLSM creates predictive applications that are self-contained and allow you to form predictive workflow. You will be able to point the application at different data and redeploy the algorithms. You can create processes that are reusable. Here is a visual of the steps in MLSM:
